I know I know, it’s been like years………. I’m planning a revamp for the blog and trying to figure it out. so just stay tune

My weight has attained a new peak last week reaching a…. nahh, I’ll keep it to myself for now. ;p hahaha. It seems that my static exercises I have been doing is not working, or my diet either. So it’s time to do something more. And with much “support”, I went for a swim since god knows when last time I worn my trucks…

It wasn’t that bad really, in fact, I kind of forgotten how it feels like swimming. I really love being out in the sea, pool, you name it. I’m very much an outdoor person even till today. I enjoy the sun, the sea and even as simple as the smell of grass. :)

Well, whatever the case, I’m going to try to keep these exercises going. I have 1 year to slim down! ;p

I was at ION Orchard the very next day it opened on the 21 July 2009. I guess many will still remember the times when it was just a flat land with occasional fun fair carnival. And the entrance of the MRT was this dome shape shelter lined with red support. And guess what, it’s now one of the biggest shopping malls in Singapore with half the stores which are flagship stores in Singapore.

From the outside, the buidling looks majesty and grand, even reckoning it to Hong Kong’s night life, while on the inside, it looks equally grand, at least on the surface level onwards. But the escalators were all over the place and I got pretty lost finding my way inside… ;p I think food beckons me to them at B4, hahahaha. Got some interesting food ideas at the basement that are worth visiting. Well, and the Dunkin Donuts made a comeback to Singapore ION after leaving the Singapore market for almost 15 years. Back to jump on the band wagon? Is it too late? Well, at least I’m going to join the q before they decide on their next move. ;p

I no longer have to take this long path to wheelock place and Liat Tower underground through ck tang, lido and finally wheelock. And the new underpass definitely brought some life to wheelock too!

ION Orchard is one of the many malls that are beginning to sprout on the Singapore landscape in recent years in preparation for the IR’s opening in the next two years. With 4 more years of F1 and new IR coming up, Singapore will no doubt become the Hub of South East Asia. But what’s next for Singapore? Underwater travel? Who knows?

Cheers

This happened the other day when I was shopping with aw for some orange ribbons for her dance costume. We can’t seem to find the right shade to match her attire. The funny thing is that two of us can’t even agree which shade was closer to her attire… until I realise the reason slightly later …

I was wearing tainted glasses… ;p

Change, or evolve, or you loss out. Mother Nature has her way to keep the fittest in the race for survival.

The society is constantly changing with new technology, ideology and people. Keeping business up to pace is a challenge for me. The demands changes swiftly and expectations shifts. My business journey has been challenged with change more often then I expected to begin with. It is easy to stay in the comfort zone and expect your demand to be there 6 months down the line. Yet the cruel truth is that competitors will rise from the depths of nowhere and push you off before you know it.

Through my journey, we have adapted several times to changing trends and demands. We start off from scratch several times, trying to find our niche area. It does quite a blow to our morale as starting all over again is no easy task.

Change is inevitable. Learning to cope with it will help you go a long way.

When all things fail, just remember to breathe… that’s what I always advice others and myself.

It sounds really silly, coz we are breathing all the time. Yet how many of us are fully aware of us breathing? Concentrating on the full process of taking in and breathing out? Well, from those who I’ve asked, few do. It just continues without extra effort, though the fact is that we need to. We heard association with breathing, such as mediation, pilates, taichi, yoga and more healthy execrices. They focus on breathing and controls the intake and exhale of air from our body so as to achieve certain benefits for our bodies.

More often then not, I get pressured by clients and fustrated by horrible demands.  I often find myself without an outlet to release the built up of fustration and stress within me. Controling my breathing became one of the instant outlet. I know it might sound hard to believe. But controling my breathing allows me to calm myself down and keep my cool. It also allows me to reorganise my thoughts better as well. It relaxes your mind and grab a hold of ourselves in the process, in the midst of confusion and anger. And in times like this, I am exercising this more often then not… I’m burning out I think…

Have you noticed how unhealthy food slowly damages our body bit by bit without us noticing? Have you notice how smoking slowly builds up tar in smokers’ lungs? Or Have you give up before we even started on a healthy diet or regime just because we don’t see progress in a week?

And the next thing we know, we see people getting hit with health problems due to poor habits. We see people giving up on their goals just because they do not see any progress when they barely started work on them.

Well, I guess you get the idea now. A lot of times things do not happen overnight, and because of this, we tend to overlook the damages it has done to us, or the tiny progress we have made. Let’s take eating for an example, whenever I take some unhealthy food like fried and oily (but tasty ;p) I will pause for a moment and think twice, but the second thought that comes along will be, “oh well, one piece cant do much damage…” and there you go, one at a time, and a belly is formed. hahaha. And yet there are times when we fail to see progress that we give up halfway through our goals. Let’s take the same example again, slimming down. After a week’s workout and diet, we fail to see results and we decided that it will not work and give up on them.

Well, both seem to have happened for me. Just almost 10 years back I thought I will never get fat… I was terribly wrong… hahaha, a meal at a time, a training less at a time, and the next thing you know, I became horizontally challenged… While on the other hand, my hard work in my business training has started to see improvement. Like how I tell my friends, though it is slow, but it is surely getting better as I see my progress over the last 3 years.

It is easy to get disheartened along the way to achieve a goal and even easier to not see the pit falls. But know that as long as we are taking steps to do something, there will be progress no matter how small. Continue long enough, and we will see the results of your hard work.

Work hard and stay strong. Your efforts will not be wasted. :)

Looking back at the times when we started to talk about the possibility of starting business was really funny. We were ambitious, full of dreams, excited, yet at the same time, we were scared and unsure. But it was a start of a memorable journey…

At Mohumand Sultan Road…
The company started with an idea to start a tee shirt label. I still remember where we met the first time at a bar at MS. Well, the bar is no longer there, but we are at least. :)

Opportunity arise…
After that night at the bar, I began to talk to people I trust on the idea. Among them, were some of my current mentors and investors from the business club. With a stroke of luck, they were also looking at a similar business idea, but they did not have any one in mind to run them yet. Well, you get the idea, we came together and the first company was born.

The push factor
Honestly, if not for the investors pushing us into starting and registering the company, we might have never taken the steps to do so, be it still unsure, or not knowing how to do so. I was a green horn with no knowledge of business, armed only with a passion, a dream and a goal to grow the company, which I learn along the way that was not enough to succeed.

For those who know me, tee shirt ain’t really the area I wanted to be in. FnB has always been my passion as I’ve stated in the earlier post. But I thought this will be a way into business and start of a learning journey. I decided to take the plunge…

Constant Change
We paid for our lessons, we didn’t draw a single cent for more then a year, we were laughed at by others, we were doubted.  We were met with constant changes and challenges. Tears, sweat, blood, sacrifices, heartaches were part of the journey. I wanted to throw in the towel several times… but my family and friends were there to support me and telling me not to do so.

We started several start up ideas, but few picked up. We started from scratch everytime we had a new idea. The process of restarting was demoralising and tough. As time was not on our side – we were graduating from university, where we needed to decide if we wanted to do this full time.

Fortunately, some ideas did pick up along the way and we further develop them into a new direction of Graffiti and later incorporating it into Marketing and Advertising even further. All did not come easy for sure. And the credit goes to the team and families and friends around for the humble start we have now. And I am sure we will continue to grow and expand.

In the posts to come, I’ll share more about particular issues and events that had touched my life.

In the meantime, take care and have a good week ahead.

Cheers,
Lee

And there I was proudly standing at the entrance of the Legendary PC Show 2009 at 1145… The clock was ticking as the crowd continue to gather at the entrance as the seconds go by. I got some flyers and was already going through some of the products. With 10 minutes to go, a reporter from Zao Bao came to me and asked to do an interview with me on why I am here. erm… nah, I decided to give it a miss. No point I guess. And so, at the fateful hour of 12 noon, the gates opened, and it was like the floodgates from a dam as the people rush into the hall to pick up the best deals.

Quite an experience standing there and rushing in with the crowd. As I was discribing it to my friend, it was like war… Haha, and I was pretty surprise I actually came so early. I wanted to get a netbook this time round. So I took my time taking all the relevent flyers.

Well, I was there over the first three days of the show. And you can see how the crowd grows over the days, by saturday, you thought you were queuing for NDP… you can hardly move. After a three day visit, I concluded that if I ever wanted any electrical products or hp line or cable upgrade, get it at the PC Show, IT Show or Comex… you get the best deal.

Well, I’m the proud owner of a new Asus netbook now. Hehehe, and I no longer have to depend on power point to work with a 9.5hr battery life. :)

Cheers
